Hi my name is Liv, I am the Proprietor and Head Tutor at Atama Math. Let me tell you a little about my journey that led me here.
I began tutoring mathematics in 2018 to local high school students. After graduating from McMaster University in Mathematics in May of 2022 I decided to tutor full time since I loved it so much! My tutoring approach emphasized helping students develop math confidence so they can think critically and solve diverse problems.
Throughout my tutoring journey I recognized the lack of confidence students had in their skills and abilities; especially in mathematics. I noticed the school system was failing our students in the area of problem solving. Students learned to regurgitate formulas rather than to critically think and understand the problems. I decided to start Atama Math because I want to change the way we teach and learn mathematics!
